9-5 Nihilism

It feels like something big is about to happen. A great detachment. Too many people hate their jobs. I can’t remember the last time I spoke to an office worker who wasn’t coasting on caffeine and apathy on the way to burnout.

They’re trapped in someone else’s system; measured, monitored and voluntarily probed for efficiency and profit. The machinery is advancing faster than the humans stuck inside it. Their souls are being clocked away.

The 9-5 is already a relic for anyone who truly understands life. When you bow to a payslip, you accept the loss of agency, identity, and meaning. At best, jobs are a temporary tool for stability.

Your “career path” will give you promotions that offset inflation, not outrun it. You’ll never reach real wealth, freedom, or fulfilment through middle management.

We’ve entered a global, merit‑based cybereconomy. You can sell your mind and ideas to anyone, from anywhere. Talent, skills, and output now carry more weight than connections, location, or credentials.

This is the new order—the moral arc bending toward merit. Choosing the cage of a 9-5 makes you a curiosity. A prop, not a person.

In 2025, your credentials are toast. Clocking in won’t cut it. Hours worked is a dead metric. The only way out is through.

Build strength. Develop skills. Write relentlessly. Chase power. Escape the W‑2 mindset. Embrace 9-5 nihilism.

And above all, don’t look back.

If you do, they’ll catch you, sit you back down, and remind you where you belong: in the corner, under dead fluorescents, next to a rotting pot plant.
